Ep.005 Ugh. I don’t want to do this podcast anymore

FinalCoverArtUGH.

My motivation to continue this podcast is waning. In all transparency, I don’t feel like doing this anymore.

So I guess the honeymoon phase is over? Booooo!

You’ve experienced this before, haven’t you? You get a really great start on a project, weight loss program or relationship and everything is new and fun. The prospect of the desired outcome is super bright and attainable…

But then…the new found excitement begins to wane and the daily grind sets in.

Now you have to do the work. Even when you don’t feel like it. Ugggghhh..

Listen to episode #5 as I talk about wanting to stop, and how you can easily overcome those moments you feel like giving up.

It’s not as difficult as you think!

I’d love to hear your experiences with wanting to quit after the the initial excitement goes away.

Listen to the podcast, comment, and remember to share the love on social media!

The gaming industry is no stranger to “Please get me out of my job!”, and over the past 8 months of development, I’ve reached points of wanting to quit. But then I remember why I got into the industry to begin with, and I don’t WANT to quit anymore.

A good message, Kat, and I think we hit these in any walk of life.

Isn’t it funny how this up and down roller coaster applies to all industries? As I said in my second podcast, if we don’t feel like quitting and the resistance isn’t there, than we aren’t shooting high enough.

Okay Matt, let’s do this! I’ll keep going if you do! =)

I know how it feels! Where has this podcast been all my life? Hahaha! When the daily grind sets in, pushing yourself becomes harder. You are right with what you said that things do not have to be perfect all the time. On some days, it’s better if we at least show up and just do it! If we try to make everything perfect all the time, it will just tire us and delay us more in moving forward.

It is also helpful for me to pause and evaluate how far I have come since day 1. Btw, I did say “YES” out loud! Hahaha!

      YES! =)

      So glad to hear this!

I don’t think this feeling will ever go away! It is part of the cycle of creation and execution, ebb and flow, up and down. I guess it’s all about embracing the ENTIRE process, not just the fun parts, right? =)

    Kat! You are amazing!

I would like to ask a few questions: How else do you keep yourself motivated? What are the things you do to keep going?

Aww, thank you Demi! Those are good questions. The thing that keeps me going is knowing exactly what my core values are, and what my BHAG is! My BHAG is an extension of my core values.

In other words, it’s my VALUES that drive me to do anything in life. My values are the essence of who I am; they are the expression of my soul.

So, the important thing to do is to get clear on what your values are! If you want more information, just let me know. =) I can help you with this.
