Why I was a binge eater

For most of my life I was very overweight.  In fact I was overweight even as a child.  Even then I had horrible eating habits, and remember eating until I felt pain in my stomach. Eventually this turned into gorging on food until I physically couldn’t move.

In hindsight I realized that the reason I binged until I was in physical pain was because I wanted to avoid feeling the emotional pain.

However when I finally decided to take control of my life and become healthy, I realized that all the inner pain that I was trying to avoid was actually….not that bad at all!  Once I began digging a little deeper into what was causing me to feel so horribly I realized that it was mostly all fear-based!  And we all know what F.E.A.R. stands for, right?  False Evidence Appearing Real.

I had created the fear in my head and assumed it was real!

I share this story because I know that when you decide to finally step into your personal power, beauty and health you will successfully find all of these things in your life.  Everything you think is so “bad”–is really not that bad at all.

So I encourage you to start thinking about how you want to live the rest of your life.  Do you want to live in FEAR of your own feelings and continue masking them through food, toxic relationships and other things that are making it worse?  Or do you want to stop that cycle of  self-abuse and finally step up into the person that you want to be?

      Thanks Devani! I totally agree many people struggle with this. And to be honest, though I don’t gorge on food until I am physically in pain, I find myself reaching for “crunch munchy” food when I am mentally stressed!
